Icons + Bones is an art project by Heidi Bones.

Heidi is an underground artist, fantasist and creator originally from Aotearoa/NZ, now living on Wurundjeri County in Australia.

Heidi creates these magical worlds of skeleton pirates searching for treasure protected by ancient guardians and The Madonna covered in flowers and jewels sitting upon opulent altars covered in gold, flowers and candles..

She gathered her visions through years of creating, visiting art galleries around the world, studying all of the major art movements and religions as well as Indigenous Philosophies and diving deep into her Ancestry. Her art is deeply inspired by her travels through the Egyptian pyramids and temples, exploring the Paris catacombs and the cemeteries and altars of Mexico and Colombia.

In another life, she created hauntingly beautiful dreamy music under the moniker Heidi Elva.

Heidi lives a quiet life with her son in an old farming town not far from Melbourne.

Her art process uses future technology, AI, Photoshop, old plaster casting and painting techniques and ritual.
